OVERVIEW:  Innovative, immersive education comes to life at our Introduction to Horses Camp. This 2-day overnight camp is a fabulous introduction to horses. Students will learn the basics of riding and care of horses in a fun, encouraging and safe environment. Topics include horsemanship skills, safety, grooming, tacking, lunging, riding posture for balance, nutrition, and jobs in the industry.  Students will also learn about horse behavior, as well as equipment and stable maintenance.  Of course, each student will enjoy an introductory horseback ride.  We go into the town of Oberlin for dinner and a walk through the town square.  In the evening, we talk about our day while we sit around the camp fire and roast marshmallows.
